An Independent Project

Rail Relaxation runs without ads, without sponsors, and without algorithms. Every video is filmed, edited, and published by one person. The interactive map, the route data, the website — all built and maintained independently. That freedom is what makes this project what it is, but it also means there's no corporate budget behind it.

What It Takes

Behind every cab ride video is a journey that had to happen in real life. A filming trip across Europe means weeks on the road — train tickets, accommodation night after night, meals in stations between connections. A single month of travel can easily run into thousands of euros, and that's before anything gets filmed.

Then there's the equipment. Producing quality video and audio from the cab of a moving train isn't straightforward. Over the years, I've gone through countless microphones, cameras, and mounting solutions — testing, upgrading, replacing — always chasing better image clarity and cleaner sound. Every improvement you hear or see in newer videos is the result of that ongoing investment.
