Experience one of Europe's newest and most impressive railway corridors in this cab-view journey from Vienna to Graz aboard an ÖBB high-speed service continuing towards Villach via the revolutionary Koralmbahn.

Departing from Vienna, the train follows Austria's historic Southern Railway corridor toward Graz, crossing the varied landscapes of Lower Austria and Styria. Along the way, viewers can observe busy main-line operations, modern railway infrastructure and the gradual transition from the Vienna Basin to the rolling hills and valleys of southern Austria.

Since December 2025, the opening of the Koralmbahn has transformed rail travel in Austria. This 130-kilometre high-performance railway between Graz and Klagenfurt forms the backbone of the country's new Southern Line and is part of the wider Baltic–Adriatic Corridor linking Central Europe with the Adriatic Sea. The line's centrepiece is the 33-kilometre Koralm Tunnel, one of the longest railway tunnels in the world. Test trains have operated at speeds of up to 250 km/h, making it Austria's fastest railway line.

The service featured in this video continues beyond Graz towards Klagenfurt and Villach, offering dramatically reduced journey times and creating a completely new rail connection between Styria and Carinthia. The Koralmbahn has reduced travel times between Graz and Klagenfurt to approximately 41–42 minutes, compared with journeys of around two to three hours previously.

From the busy approaches to Vienna to the scenic landscapes of Styria, this journey captures a historic moment in Austrian railway history, as the country's largest railway project in more than a century enters regular passenger service.
