About this journey

Zabok station sits at 186 metres above sea level in the Hrvatsko Zagorje region and serves as the central railway hub of Krapina-Zagorje County. The town itself grew longitudinally along the northern side of the railway track after World War II, so the line is a defining feature of the settlement the cab camera moves through from the first moments of departure. From Zabok, the route follows corridor R201 southward toward Zaprešić, where it joins the main line M101 for the final approach into Zagreb.

The journey ends at Zagreb Glavni kolodvor, a Neoclassical terminus whose 186.5-metre-long station building was designed by Hungarian architect Ferenc Pfaff and officially opened on 18 August 1892. Construction had been authorised in 1890 and financed by the Hungarian State Railways (MÁV), with the City of Zagreb contributing approximately 25 hectares of land for the site. The station was expanded in 1936 with covered platforms, underground passenger passages, and a Siemens & Halske electromechanical interlocking system for centralised traffic control. Designated a protected cultural monument of Croatia, the building retains its allegorical sculptures above the main entrance. The ride thus moves from a regional Zagorje hub through the descending terrain toward one of Central Europe's most architecturally distinguished nineteenth-century terminus stations.
